Philanthropist Adam Milstein and his background

Adam Milstein is blazing new trails in the world of philanthropy. The Israeli-American businessman got his start in the real estate business when he was an undergrad. He worked at his father’s real estate firm.

He graduated from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in 1972 with a bachelor degree in economics and another in business. He moved to America with his wife Gila in 1981. He enrolled in a business administration master’s program at the University of Southern California in 1983.

Adam Milstein currently works as a managing partner at the real estate acquisition and rehabilitation firm Hagar Pacific Properties. He is responsible for the firm’s accounting and financing along with disposition and deals with both residential and commercial properties.

Besides Hagar Pacific Properties, Adam Milstein also grants a great deal of his time to philanthropy. He and Gila have come together to co-found two organizations: Sifriyat Pijama B’America and the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation. Sifriyat Pijama B’America provides service to lower income Jewish families by sending them monthly books written in Hebrew. The Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation encourages both students and professionals to pursue a connection with their Jewish heritage.

Adam Milstein is also responsible for co-founding the most rapidly growing Jewish foundation in the United States: the Israel-American Council. This organization contains more than 250,000 members across the United States. It serves by empowering the identity of Jewish and Israel-American citizens.

Adam Milstein also is a board member of some other organizations: Jewish Fundraisers Network, Birthright Israel, and StandWithUs. Jewish Fundraisers Network makes an effort to raise funds that go towards Jewish education programs. Birthright Israel offers Jewish college students a trip to Israel so that they may reconnect with their heritage. StandWithUs is a non-profit group that advocates for the educational rights of Israel-Americans and Jewish Americans. Via twitter
